An Author Event: Rae Meadows

Twitter is a wonderful way to find out what some of the authors you read are up to and to see if they are doing any readings/appearances in your area. So I was thrilled when Rae Meadows, author of Mothers & Daughters was going to be relatively close to me. Last night she did a reading of her book at The Book Stall in Winnetka, IL.

It was wonderful to hear her read from the book and get to chat with her. She also brought her adorable 6 month old daughter, Olive with her.

As a side note, I also got to meet Jen from Devourer of Books. We met for dinner, chatted about life, blogging, putting together a Chicago-area book bloggers group on Facebook and then headed down to meet and hear Rae read.

Of course being a book store means buying books, which I did. :)
