With all Shel Silverstein's poignant (and a few bizarre) writings, sometimes I forget he can do silly too. A Giraffe and a Half is a perfect example of just how Seussian he can be. Silverstein keeps adding things in rhyming couplet to this poor giraffe. Just when it looks like he might topple, Silverstein starts taking things away, still in rhyme.This is a cute and silly read that tests your memory and twists the tongue. It's worth a trip to the library
