My husband brought this book home from the library for our daughter and it was a perfect selection because she is obsessed by both princesses and dancing at the moment. On personal level, I was excited because it is a collaboration between Julie Andrews (whom I greatly admire) and her daughter, Emma Walton Hamilton.
Geraldine is a fairy princess and she knows it because she can just feel the sparkle inside of her... but when she isn't cast in the lead role of Crystal Princess for her dance recital, Geraldine must come to terms with what being a fairy princess truly means - to keep your chin up no matter what, to support your friends, to help others, and to make new friends in the process.
I love this story and so does my daughter. We can't always be a star, but that doesn't mean we can't sparkle in our own way. It's a fabulous message. This will be another permanent addition to our library along with the first book in the series, The Very Fairy Princess that discusses that it's princesses-y to do all kinds of things.
I've been debating these books for N and I'm now convinced. She'll watch Ms. Andrews in anything, as will I.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't read the first one yet, but it sounds just as wonderful.
